FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION. CURRENT STATUS IN CATALONIA.

As part of the International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women, the Intercollegiate Women and Equality Commission is organising an event entitled "Female genital mutilation" on 19 November at 6 p.m. at the headquarters of the Official College of Nurses of Barcelona. Current State in Catalonia", with the following program:

PROGRAM:

18:00 h. Welcome by Mercedes Guerrero Martínez, vice-president of the College of Nurses of Barcelona and Lluïsa Garcia Garrido, dean of the Council of Colleges of Nurses of Catalonia.

18:10 h. Round Table

- Marina Gallés Clarà, lawyer member of the permanent Women Lawyers Commission.
Legal framework regulating Female Genital Mutilation.

- Aina Mangas Lompart, anthropologist, public health nurse and vice-president of the NGO Wassu Gambia Kafo.
Female Genital Mutilation in Catalonia, Spain and the Gambia. Transnational Observatory of FGM/C Catalonia-Gambia. Wassu Gambia Kado, NGO.

- Oumou Balde Boiro, social integrator, nurse at the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona and member of the Jokkereendam association against gender violence such as Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriages.

- Aissatou Diallo, founder and president of the AHCAMA Association.

Moderator: Jessica del moral, journalist.
