The Board of Directors of the Official College of Commercial Agents of Barcelona (COACB) was received by the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, Josep Rull, in an institutional meeting held as part of the celebrations marking the COACB Centennial (1926–2026).
The meeting provided an opportunity to share with the President of the Parliament the history and achievements of an institution that has spent the last one hundred years serving commercial agents and contributing to the development of Catalonia’s commercial and business community. The centennial represents a unique occasion to highlight the role of commercial professionals as key players in connecting businesses, products, services and markets.
During the meeting, several of the main challenges currently facing the profession were discussed, particularly in areas such as continuous training, digital transformation, the adoption of new technologies and business competitiveness. In this context, the COACB reaffirmed its commitment to promoting initiatives that support the professional development of the sector and help professionals adapt to the evolving economic and commercial landscape.
The COACB expressed its gratitude to Josep Rull and the Parliament of Catalonia for their warm welcome and their recognition of a profession that has been part of the country’s economic history for over a century. This meeting forms part of the institutional actions promoted throughout the centennial year to strengthen the visibility of the profession and highlight the contribution of commercial agents to the economic and business growth of Catalonia.
With one hundred years of history behind it, the COACB continues to work with the same spirit of service that has defined the institution since its foundation: defending the interests of commercial professionals, promoting lifelong learning and contributing to the development of trade, business and the Catalan economy.
